Authorities said Arcadia's father was fatally shot dead in a possible family invasion robbery Tuesday night.
A woman and her 13-year-old son were forced into a house in Woodland Lane by a stranger around 6:30 p.m. during the confrontation, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and the boy's 61-year-old father was fatally shot dead.
The teenager called 911 and reported the incident. His father was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Sheriff Lieutenant Steven de Zhong said the incident may have been a personal motivation, but the investigation is still underway.
The woman and her son were not physically harmed at the time of the incident and the man's killer escaped. Weapons were found on the scene, but no other information was available immediately.
