Jay Graber's disgust for the tech billionaire on her sleeve wearing her. Bruceki CEO wore a shirt in the Latin phrase “Mundus sine Caesaribus” which translated into “the world without Caesar” while speaking today (March 10) at SXSW in Austin. The move forms a subtle thrust of Mark Zuckerberg of Meta (Meta), who wore a similar top reading “Aut Zuck Aut Nihil” in September, a twist on “Caesar or Nothing both”, replacing the Roman emperor with Meta Ceo.

Blues media users are dissatisfied with the platform owned by billionaires, especially the interface of Elon Musk's XX is becoming more and more. She said its customizable feature allows users to opt out of specific feeds or conversations, a move that supports users’ “anti-toxic experience.” Bluesky was originally incubated in 2019 by Twitter under its former CEO Jack Dorsey, and was founded two years later as an independent company.

Blues users can “fork” at any time

Graber said Bruinsky's decentralized, open source network also made it a billionaire, as users who decided to leave could bring their followers to them and even create a completely new network. “The fact that users have choice means we are inspiring to continue serving [them],” she explained. “If a billionaire comes in and buys Bruinsky and takes over it, or I decide to change things tomorrow in ways people don’t like, then they can fork and keep using other applications. ”

Bluesky's commitment to open networks extends to partnering with other applications such as Flashes, Instagram (Meta) style photo sharing platform. Graber said Bluesky users who sign up for Flashs could decide to share their content in both apps, noting that similar to Meta's text-heavy Instagram and photo-centric Instagram app is a key warning. “They create a unified ecosystem in the items they have, so no matter which app you use, you can be on the meta attributes,” Graber said.

The road to profit

Despite the sudden surge in popularity, it remains to be seen how Bruinsky will make money. Graber said the fledgling company currently has only 21 employees and is exploring the subscription model as a “first step”, noting that the Blues are also researching the monetization of developer services.

Another problem facing Bluesky is the data-hungry AI model scratching its content. Musk's Xai uses X's user content to train its Grok Chatbot. Brusky claims it has no plans to provide such information to AI models. But that didn't stop others from scratching the contents of the platform.

To combat this behavior, Grabber said that Bluesky “works with certain partners to develop a framework for the use of data generated by AI”, for example, the framework used by the website will be parallel to the robots.txt file. “Now, it's an emerging conversation that requires a clearer and more transparent way of using data,” Graber said.
