Volvo reveals its ES90 eV with 800-volt charging system

Volvo has officially launched the ES90 for its S60 sedan, which is the ES90. Volvo said while the vehicle could be considered a sedan, it has “fast back adaptability, as well as the spacious interior and higher ground clearance associated with the SUV.” This is the first Volvo EV with an 800-volt system, which promises faster charging times. Since Volvo's 800-volt technology uses lighter components to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle, it may also lead to longer ranges and better acceleration.

For the ES90, Volvo promises to drive 700 kilometers or 435 miles, although the official EPA range may be shorter. When plugged in a 350 kW fast charger, the model can add 300 km (186 miles) range in just 10 minutes, and its 106 kWh battery can range from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The top speed of all vehicles is 112 mph, but the dual-motor performance (all-wheel drive) version has the fastest acceleration, ranging from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

The ES90 is built on top of the Volvo Cars Superset technology stack, just like the Ex90 SUV. This is a set of hardware and software that will serve as all the basis for all Volvo’s electric cars and can be updated over the air at the same time as needed. But the ES90 is the first Volvo model powered by a Dual Nvidia Drive AGX Orin configuration, which the company's chief engineering and technology officer says makes it “the most powerful car”. [Volvo has] Once created based on core computing power. ”

Volvo offers a slightly raised ride height for the ES90, its Thor hammer headlight design, and its new C-shaped LED rear lights. It also equips the vehicle with a range of sensors, including one lidar, five radars, seven cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors for its active safety system that can help drivers avoid collisions and dangers. Inside, owners can fold their three rear seats separately for more space. While the panoramic roof provides 99.9% UV protection, buyers can opt for an electrochromic version that allows them to darken the glass and reduce glare when buttoned. Owners can access the model's infotainment system on their 14.5-inch central screen display, which comes with built-in Google apps including maps and assistants.

Interested buyers can now order ES90 in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Volvo will release it in more markets later this year and in 2026.
