New Canadian business makes travel for Emtbers easier

Emtbers who want to travel to Canada but want to avoid the hassle of traveling with batteries will have a new option thanks to the current EMTB battery. Starting in July this year, the new company will rent EMTB batteries from its Whistler location.

Current EMTB will also ship batteries to customers anywhere in Canada, saving time and money from within Canada, while international customers delivering batteries from areas outside the country, which is much more expensive and time-consuming.

“Rent a battery is less expensive than renting an e-bike or buying a spare battery,” said Peter Tongue, the current founder of EMTB. “In addition, it gives riders the freedom to bring their own bikes. This service makes your e-bike as easy as a hill and we won’t trample.”

The site’s on-site booking form allows riders to get rent before summer. The process is simple: book online (free) and get confirmation before you travel; pack your bike and charger; pick up the battery in Whistler, or ship it to your destination; and get off or ship the battery back.

Tongue said that physical Whistler locations will be explored until 11 p.m. to arrive later, and options for buying or renting batteries will be explored for a long time.

Airlines prohibit inspection of lithium-ion batteries due to potential fire hazards. Tongue says that transport batteries are expensive and take a long time during which the sender does not use a bicycle. With his new service, Emtbers can pack up the bike without batteries without carrying one, or rent an extra battery if charging time or charging availability is an issue, such as when camping.

“It's hard to know how big the market for this service is,” Tongue Online wrote. “So why we're so keen to have people fill out the form of booking or expressing expressions of interest. Just keen to help others who want to travel with their EMTB. … I want people to want this service. I know I want to travel with my ebike!”

Tongue said he is still in popularity based on insurance, different types of batteries and supplier prices, but the online response is positive.

“Wow, you’re going to rent a battery for Whistler’s bow to reach out?” wrote an Instagram commentator. “The cost of shipping from BC to BC and a week of ground transportation costs about $40. Interested in rates, but usually traveling from abroad. A fewer things to worry about. 🙌”
