DirecTV Launching Genre Pack, a more affordable way to get the channel you really want
DirecTV is a channel group related to specific interests. Satellite TV providers used to make fun of it in January, but now there are. These new packages include options for news, entertainment and Spanish content.
Just like MySports subscriptions, many of these new bundles come with subscriptions for live TV channels and streaming platforms. For example, MyEntertainment Bundle allows access to about 40 channels, including Bravo and FX, but also includes subscribing to Disney+ with Hulu. The monthly fee is $35, which is a good deal.
The MyNews bundle doesn't come with any premium streaming subscriptions, but does allow access to a 24-hour news cycle in all its brain-fused glory. Buyers have access to all the large and large numbers here, including MSNBC, Fox News, CNN, and NewsMax for some reason. It costs $40 a month, which seems to be just to watch a bunch of rich people yell at you, but I know what.
Miespañol provides access to over 50 channels, including many Spanish languages such as Univision and Telemundo. The monthly fee is $35. The MySports bundle launched in January is still emerging, at $70 a month. It provides access to 25 sports-related channels and includes subscriptions to ESPN+.
