Jony Ive and Sam Altman sit in the tree and “kill” the smartphone

Openai announced that it will merge with Jony Ive and its secret AI device design company to provide astronomical figures for $6.5 billion. Ive, who helped us bring legendary products like the iMac and iPhone, will lead the manufacturers of Chatgpt, not only to make better chatbots, but also to create a product that “reimagines” personal computers. Maybe Ive and Silicon Valley Darling Openai CEO Sam Altman might end up helping us get rid of screen addiction, or maybe it's just another humane pin.

Ultraman and Ive gathered together in a huge media blitz to announce their new match in heaven. Ive's company Lovefrom, along with other well-known figures in other technology design spaces, including former iPhone designer Tang Tan, has worked with Altman. Now, engagement is formal. Ive and Apple Veterinarians will now be heavily involved in all aspects of OpenAI software and hardware development. Although Lovefrom partnered with Openai as an independent company, the company of IVE's independent company “IO” will work hand in hand with the manufacturers of Chatgpt to bring a “family of products” designed for our current AI era.

Altman said in an announcement video to X that the merger was “formed, and its mission was to figure out how to create a home of devices that would allow people to use AI to create all kinds of wonderful things.” For him, I mentioned that the world is still fixed on devices that have not changed well in design for a decade.

I've still not provided the appearance of this so-called device, its function or terminology, that his words “capture our imagination”. It does exist, as Altman says, he has used the early prototype, but it is portable in some way – but it will continue until an unknown date. The Wall Street Journal reported that based on anonymous sources, the device's manufacturers want to “move consumers to the screen.”

According to Bloomberg, under the new Big Tech Chimera led by Ive and Altman, Openai said the device may not replace the smartphone at least, rather than initially not. Meanwhile, IVE's team will “take over all other design spaces in Openai, including developments on Chatgpt. Perhaps these experienced designers can take the chatbot beyond its current iteration as a cheating tool that students use to stop themselves from learning.

As for the unknown AI hardware, we can’t help but remind ourselves of last year’s AI wearable device, similar to the human AI PIN. The device includes connectivity with a chatbot that can also handle lightweight tasks such as text or email on behalf of the user. AI PIN was overwhelmed by problems, and the sales volume sold were so poor that it was sold to HP, whose initial valuation of $850 billion was a small part.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Ive said that the Humane AI PIN and the AI-centric Doohickey, Rabbit R1 are both “very bad products.” He further added: “There is no new way of thinking in the product.” Without actual product details, the prospect only needs to promote him.

In a recent interview with Stripe CEO Patrick Collison, the man who created the original iPhone, along with Steve Jobs, aired his displeasure in the screen obsession world he helped create. He called social media a social disease, and maybe he could convince the company to cancel its reported Twitter cloning program.
