Duolingo resurrects his mascot Duo The Owl after Tesla Cybertruck murder

How to say “resurrection” in your favorite Duolingo language? Duo The Owl, the mascot of the Duolingo language learning app, was recently killed by the company – but on February 24, he came back to life. Social media posts show that the duo (well, the guy in the duo’s mask and neon suit) jumped out of the coffin. The video contains the “Legend never die” and the title, “Do you really think I’ll let Seberak take me out?”

The company has released a link urging Duolino users to take language courses to help mascots rejuvenate.

“This is a duo or death!” a message on the website reads. “Let's work together and bring the duo back before it's too late! Take a class now.”

The website was then updated to show which countries get the most experience points or XP, which is the currency the site grants users who practice languages. The United States ranked first, followed by Germany, Brazil, China and India.

“The two are saved!” The website is as of February 24.

Duolingo's representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Resurrection may feel familiar. In 2020, another brand became famous for its mascot: Mr. Peanut was roasted by growers before the Super Bowl that year. However, the death of peanuts did not last long. In the ads running in the game, he was resurrected as a baby nut.

The death of the two

After the February 9 Super Bowl, the duo mocked the (metaphorical) death of rapper Drake during Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl show and posted a title The rough animation, “After Drake attended his own funeral on national TV.” But two days later, it was the Green Cartoon Owl who ended up dead and murdered by Duolingo's marketing team.

After the announcement, the company posted a sale of duo plush on the coffin-shaped box, which read: “All duo purchases come with free limited edition memorial coffin boxes, with the highest supply.”

“I'm dead waiting for you to go to class”

After the announcement of “death”, the language app company announced Duo's death, writing “The authorities are currently investigating the cause of his death and we are working together completely. TBH, he may be dead waiting for you to attend class, but we know what.”

The post appeared on multiple platforms, mentioning the duo “formally known as Duolingo Owl” and had “many enemies.” Duolingo then released a memorial called the mascot Duo Keyshauna Renee Lingo. “Instead of flowers, please do the Duolingo course.” Tiktok video shows other mascots transport the coffin to the pickup truck.

“Update: Officials have identified the cause of death. Follow more details. Thank you for holding the space for Duolingo.”

Duolingo did not reveal the culprit after a few hours, but did show how death: In the video, the duo was warned that the content might be sensitive to certain owls. truck) Hit.

The dead mascot floats in the universe, passing through a terrible set of gates (will the mascot go to hell?). “Rewards are rewarded for those who can identify drivers,” the company said in the title.

Dua Lipa connection

The blitz of the post has attracted attention from internet meme makers who speculated about the deaths, brands including Baskin Robbins and Cheez, as well as games Halo and Streamer Netflix acknowledged The fictional past, this is the last past. Squid game matching. The Monster Hunter Game franchise attempts to earn honors for death in its position.

Pop star Dua Lipa is perhaps the weirdest (or sweetly depending on your point of view): “Til'Death Duo part” and Broken the Heartt Emoji.

Dua Lipa has previously appeared in the video with Mascot, in this fictional narrative, perhaps dating an owl.

“We thank you for your current respect for Dua Lipa's privacy,” Duolingo wrote in the death notice.
