Shiffrin

Mikaela Shiffrin is the best 100% of the Ski World Cup history books.

Shiffrin's record 100th Professional World Cup victory Sunday won a mission to severely collapse in November.

Back in her favorite slalom, Shiffrin retained and added her first lead, 0.61 seconds ahead of the Italian Sestriere Zrinka Ljutic. Shiffrin's American teammate Paula Moltzan ranked third with a defender of 0.64.

Mikaela Shiffrin in the United States won the Women's Rapids Slalom at the Sestriere ski resort in Turin, Italy to win her 100th World Cup. It was also her 155th World Cup podium, which was associated with the mark set by Sweden’s Great Ingemar Stenmark.

The 29-year-old Shiffrin also sets a history of World Cup record for men and women as she finished her 155th career top 3 on the podium, Sweden’s great Ingema Starmack ( Great Ingemar Stenmark).

Shiffrin crossed the finish line and looked at the scoreboard for a long time to show her victory. Then, she looked at her left shoulder in surprise again.

She lay on the snow with her right hand, leaning against her helmet and being hugged by Moltzan helping her feet.

Shiffrin initially cried when she was asked in a post-match interview what she had experienced in the past few months.

“Everyone is very kind and so supportive. I'm so grateful, thank you,” she said.

Mikaela Shiffrin thanks her fans and teammates after winning her 100th World Cup victory in Turin, Italy in a post-match interview.

Shiffrin's 99th victory was won exactly three months ago in the slalom of Gurgl, Austria.

No. 100 was clear a week later when Shiffen crashed from a massive slalom in Killington, Virginia, while quickly competing for the No. 1 leader.

The injuries she suffered in the falls – severe trauma of the oblique muscle and deep stab wounds – kept her for weeks and left a “PTSD-like” anxiety about the racing giant storm.

In Sestriere's two huge big memories, she ranked in the top 30 in 25 Friday and Saturday races, running out of the top 30 for the first time since 2012.

Shiffrin showed no signs of nervousness, winning second offense, half a second faster than Ljutic, who won three-time champions in the World Cup this season.

A tearful shiffrin said: “A lot of things have to go in my direction.

Toronto's Ali Nullmeyer posted her best this season, ranking 11th with a 1:51:92-1.59 second pace.

Laurence St-Germain of Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges, Quebec, ranked 27th out of 30 skiers on two runs, with 1: 53.32 ranking.

Shiffrin and Stenmark are the greatest record records in the 58-year history of the World Cup.

“She is much better than me,” Stenmark said in an interview with the Associated Press two years ago.

His record of 86 World Cup titles was broken in March 2023 in nearly 34 years of his last victory. Stenmark's 86th victory – a huge slalom in Aspen, Colorado in February 1989 – was also his 155th and final podium.

Shiffrin matched Stenmark's first 3 results with six fewer results. According to Ski-db.com, Sunday was her 278th World Cup match, and Stenmark's last podium was his 284th match.
