Barracuda's Gushchin is known as this week's AHL player | theahl.com

Springfield, Massachusetts. …The American Hockey League announced today that San Jose Barracudas forward Danil Gushchin Has been selected as Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Players of the Week During the period ending March 23, 2025.

Gushchin scored four goals and seven points in three games last week in three games, which helped the Barracudas improve on the Pacific Division standings.

Gushchin scored goals and assists in a Wednesday credit game as San Jose won 4-0 with a 4-0 victory. He scored two goals in 27 seconds on Saturday and scored two third-cycle assists in the ballerina's 8-6 victory at Bakersfield. On Sunday's home backend, Guchin scored again when San Jose beat the Condors 6-3.

In its current seven-game winning streak, Gushchin improved by 25 goals (career highest) and 17 assists with 14 points, scoring 42 points in 45 games against the Barracuda. He is the league leader with 12 power goals this season, and he ranked fifth in the AHL with 182 goals.

The 23-year-old Gushchin, a third-year professional from Yekaterinburg, Russia, scored a total of 67 goals and 74 assists in 171 professional AHL games, with 141 points. The third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft also scored two goals and three assists in 16 NHL games against the San Jose Sharks, including 10 assists in 2024-25.
