Springfield, Massachusetts. …Admiral Milwaukee advances Cal O'Reilly When the Admiral visited the Chicago Wolves at Allstate Arena in Rosemount, Illinois, he skated today in his 1,000th regular season American Hockey League game.
O'Reilly is the ninth player to reach this milestone in the league's 89-year history, joining Willie Marshall (1,205 professional games), Fred Glover (1,201), Bryan Helmer (1,117), Brett Sutter (1,090), Harry Pidhirny (1,071), Mike Nykoluk (1,069), Jody Gage (1,038) and Rob Murray (1,018). All other players except Sutter, who retired in 2024, are members of the AHL Hall of Fame.
O'Reilly, a 38-year-old Toronto native who was the second season of Milwaukee's second season, returned to the Nashville Predators group, which in 2005 He was chosen in the NHL draft. After three seasons with Windsor and Windsor, O'Reilly made his professional debut on April 14, 2006 at the Admiral – also against the Wolves – and continue to skate for Milwaukee (2006-10, 2023–) Portland Pirates (2011-12), Wilkes-Barry/Scranton Penguin (2011-12), Comet Utica ( 2013-15), Rochester American (2015-17), Toronto Maris (2016-17), Iowa Wild (2017-19) and Lehigh Valley Phantoms) (2019-23).
O'Reilly compiled 172 goals, 592 assists (6th in AHL history) and 764 points today (20th in history). O'Reilly amassed 17 goals and 48 assists in 105 games in the playoffs, entering with Milwaukee in 2006 and Utica in 2015 Calder Cup final. .
O'Reilly wore the captain's “C” for four different AHL clubs (Utica, Rochester, Iowa, Caspian Valley) and participated Five AHL All-Star Classics (2009, 2010, 2015, 2015, 2016, 2019). In 2020-21, he won the AHL’s Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award for determination and dedication to hockey.
O'Reilly also competed in 145 National Hockey League games with Nashville, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Buffalo, and he became teammates with his younger brother Ryan during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
