16-year-old suspect arrested 2 women in knife attack in Czech shopping mall – Country
A teenage assailant was detained shortly after Thursday when he killed two women with a knife at a shopping center in the Czech city of Hradec Kralove, police said.
Police are investigating the motives of the city's attack 110 kilometers east of Prague.
“Although we were on the scene within minutes of the report, the two victims were seriously injured and despite all the efforts of the respondents, they were unable to be saved.”
A police spokesman told Novinky.cz online news website that the attack occurred at a store in an outdoor shopping center. The victim is a store employee.

The spokesman said the suspicious male assaulter, a 16-year-old Czech citizen, was detained 10 minutes after the incident happened less than a kilometer away.
Police said on X: “The motives of the attacker are still unclear. However, there is nothing to suggest that this is a terrorist attack. The information we have at present may still change, which suggests that the victim's choice is random.”
Police initially said the victims were injured in the attack and then later reported that they died from injuries.
A paramedic who responded to the scene told Novinky.cz that the recovery work lasted about 40 minutes.
