Nintendo Switch 2 is now more likely to support Amiibo, faster Wi-Fi speeds

The Nintendo Switch 2 is less than a month away from the April 2 big reveal. Details about the new portable console are slowly ticking, with the latest information providing some good news for collectors of interactive action character Amiibo.
Nintendo's latest FCC file (which seems to be Switch 2) confirms some new features, as first discovered by The Verge on Friday. Nintendo's new console will support Wi-Fi 6's internet speeds, both USB-C ports will be able to charge the console, and it will be NFC compatible, which allows it to communicate with Amiibo Toys.
Nintendo first launched Amiibo for the Wii U along with Super Smash Bros. in 2014. Ultimately, support for toys expanded to the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch. Initially, the toy series featured Nintendo mascots, but soon non-candidate characters had their own Amiibo, including Sora from the Heart of Kingdoms, Solaire from Dark Souls and Pac-Man's Astora.
Other functions confirmed by Switch 2 include:
- Backward compatibility with the original swap game
- A little larger screen
- Improved graphics
- Joy-Con connected by magnet
- Use Joy-Con as an option for mouse
Details such as release date or price have not been confirmed, although there are speculations that the console will be available sometime in the summer and retails for $400. However, pricing may change due to recent tariffs.
More details about the Switch will be revealed on April 2. Fortunately, few people are able to play with Switch 2 before the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience 2 Experience event is released.
